  Los Angeles poet Rick Lupert is a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee. He created PoetrySuperHighway.com and hosted the Cobalt Cafe reading for almost 21 years (which lives on as a virtual series). His 29 collections of poetry include “God Wrestler” and “High Moose Alert.” He edited the anthologies  “A Poet’s Siddur”, “A Poet’s Haggadah”,“The Night Goes on All Night.” and “Ekphrastia Gone Wild.” Rick works as a music teacher and graphic designer. He writes a weekly Jewish poetry column for jewishjournal.com and can also be found online at jewishpoetry.net . He’s fond of his wife, their son, and cats. Los Angeles poet Rick Lupert created Poetry Super Highway ( poetrysuperhighway.com ) and hosted the Cobalt Cafe weekly reading for almost 21 years which has lived on as a Zoom series since 2020. He’s authored 28 collections of poetry, most recently It’s Spritz O’Clock Somewhere, and God Wrestler: a Poem for Every Torah Portion , and edited the anthologies A Poet’s Siddur , Ekphrastia Gone Wild , A Poet’s Haggadah , and The Night Goes on All Night . He writes a Jewish Poetry column for www.JewishJournal.com , and the daily web comic “ Cat and Banana ” with Brendan Constantine. He reads his poetry wherever they let him.       I have not, as many other people have, and with the exception of a weekend in Ventura, and a round trip drive to Sacramento, CA to pick up our newest feline overlord (both done in 2020),  traveled since before the pandemic. The news media is chock full of stories of people behaving badly, especially on planes, and even as we speak, several major airlines continue to cancel hundreds of already booked flights due to an employee shortage.        This of course, along with financial constraints (money comes and goes, more going than coming), are the reasons, for which I personally have put off any travel plans. Los Angeles poet Rick Lupert has been involved with poetry since 1990.  He is a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee, and he created Poetry Super Highway and hosts the weekly Virtual Cobalt Cafe series. He’s authored 25 collections of poetry, including “God Wrestler” and “The Tokyo-Van Nuys Express”, and edited  “A Poet’s Siddur”, “A Poet’s Haggadah”, the Noir anthology “The Night Goes on All Night.” and “Ekphrastia Gone Wild” under his imprint Ain’t Got No Press.
