The Las Vegas Trip Two mushrooms eaten in a 5th floor hotel room doors swing open I walk these streets looking through the prism of foregone conclusions empty promises and unrealistic expectations cigarette smoke clouds fluorescent lights and lady luck she is a ghost here everyone’s looking nothing is found high hopes, heat, cocktails roll the dice - sip bourbon swallow my fate along with the burden of being a stranger in a strange land a daisy soul tripping fire breathing dragon in an arid vacuum of time and space waiting for a win that ain’t coming. © 2024 Scott C.
